Education and early career
Student leader: He has a history of student union activism. At Umaru Musa Yar’adua University in Katsina, he served as both Speaker of the Students Representative Assembly (SRA) and later as President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) in 2015.

Youth advocate: He has held leadership positions in numerous youth and community organizations, including serving as Secretary-General of Katsina Youth 34 and as an advisor to the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
Activism and non-profit: Zakari is the founder and pioneer Chairman of the Katsina Independent Youth Initiative Forum, a non-governmental organization that assists the poor and needy. He also convened the Katsina Youth Enlightenment Summit in 2017.
