About NYP
The Nigerian Youth Parliament (NYP) was founded in 2008 under the administration of Umaru Musa Yar’adua GCFR, is the body that oversees the activities of youths in Nigeria. By composition, it is a replica of the Red Chamber (Senate) of the National Assembly, and as such, the Parliament is made up of 109 individuals representing all senatorial districts in Nigeria.

Rt. Hon. Aliyu Idris Zakari is the current Speaker of the Nigerian Youth Parliament, a position he was elected to in February 2025. He is a Nigerian youth leader known for his work in capacity building, community development, and youth organizations.
